A fire occurred at a waste facility in western Sydney, Australia, during late Saturday evening. Over 200 firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW were deployed to the location.
During the incident, a chemical tank exploded, causing it to be propelled into the air. Fire and Rescue NSW reported that this explosion resulted in concrete debris, described as "fist-sized blocks," falling onto first responders.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries to their hands while operating at the New South Wales blaze. No other injuries have been reported in connection with the event.
The origin of the fire has not been determined. It was projected to continue burning throughout Sunday.
