Farm Reports Significant Snail Theft
L'Escargot Des Grands Crus, a farm located in Bouzy, near Reims in northern France, has reported the theft of its entire stock of fresh and frozen snails. The stolen goods are valued at approximately €90,000.

The theft occurred overnight into Monday. Individuals gained access to the farm by cutting a border fence before entering farm buildings. A formal complaint was filed with police later in the week.

Farm manager Jean-Mathieu Dauvergne confirmed that the stolen stock represented the farm's complete inventory prepared for the end-of-year holiday season. This period typically sees increased demand for escargot, a French delicacy. The farm supplies gourmet restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Les Crayères, as well as delicatessens and private clients.
