Cricket Australia Unveils Extensive 2026-27 International Schedule

Cricket Australia has announced its international cricket schedule for the 2026-27 season, spanning an eight-month period from August to March.

The comprehensive calendar includes 27 matches across 14 venues for both men's and women's teams, highlighted by Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, white-ball series against England and South Africa, and a 150th Anniversary Test match against England.

Overall Schedule Overview

The 2026-27 season is set to commence in August with Test matches in Australia's northern regions and will conclude in March with the 150th Anniversary Test. The schedule integrates various formats including Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, involving teams from Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and an away Test series against India.

Men's International Schedule

The men's team will host series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England, in addition to an away series in South Africa and India.

NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Series v Bangladesh

Australia will host Bangladesh for two Test matches, marking Bangladesh's first Test tour of Australia since 2003. These matches will also be their first encounter in the World Test Championship era. Bangladesh, currently ranked ninth, last played Australia in long-form cricket in 2017, securing their first Test victory over Australia in Dhaka.

  • First Test: August 13 - 17, Marrara Stadium, Darwin (10 am local time)
  • Second Test: August 22 - 26, Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay (10 am local time)

Tour of South Africa

The Australian men's team will travel to South Africa for a three-match ODI series, followed by a three-Test series. This marks the first Test series between the two nations since 2018.

NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Series v New Zealand

Australia will host New Zealand for a four-Test Trans-Tasman series, the first of its kind, compressed into 31 days. This marks New Zealand's first Test visit since the 2019-20 season.

Tour of India

An away Test series, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, is scheduled for late January through February. Specific dates and venues are to be confirmed.

150th Anniversary Test Match against England

A day-night Test match to commemorate the 150th anniversary of cricket will be played against England at the iconic MCG. An additional pink-ball warm-up match for England is anticipated at Junction Oval.

Women's International Schedule

The Australian women's team will host two international series, beginning in October and continuing in February-March.

NRMA Insurance Women’s ODI Series v Bangladesh

Australia will host Bangladesh for their first bilateral series on Australian soil, comprising three day-night ODIs. These matches are part of the Women's ODI Championship, which influences qualification for the 2029 Women's ODI World Cup.

Venue Information and Developments

Mackay's Great Barrier Reef Arena will host its first-ever Test match, becoming Australia's 12th venue to do so. Darwin's Marrara Stadium previously hosted Tests in 2003 and 2004. Brisbane's Gabba will not host a Test match during this period due to ongoing planning related to the 2032 Olympics. Tropical northern regions offer hot and dry conditions suitable for cricket during Australia's winter.

Lights have been installed or upgraded at Junction Oval in Melbourne and Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide to facilitate day-night matches, including all three Trans-Tasman ODIs against New Zealand.

Broadcast and Ticketing Information

Men's Test matches and all women's international matches will be broadcast on Foxtel and Seven, including their streaming platforms Kayo Sports and 7plus. Men's white-ball fixtures will be exclusively available on Foxtel and Kayo.

A pre-sale period for CricketPlus members is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 5, 2026, with public tickets becoming available on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Northern Territory Cricket has also announced that New Zealand will play two men's T20Is in 2027.
