The film's narrative will center on King Aegon I Targaryen's conquest of Westeros, an event preceding the main series by three centuries.

Aegon I is celebrated as the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, a family central to the "Game of Thrones" franchise across various HBO productions, including the original series, "House of the Dragon," and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms."

The concept of a "Game of Thrones" feature film has been discussed on previous occasions. Franchise creator George R.R. Martin had previously indicated that both HBO and Warner Bros.
