Author Sarah J. Maas has confirmed the release dates for the sixth and seventh installments in her A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series. The announcement, made during her March 4 appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, also included details regarding the overarching narrative structure that will span these two books and a planned eighth installment.
Release Schedule Confirmed
The confirmed release dates for the upcoming books are:
ACOTAR Book 6: October 27, 2026
ACOTAR Book 7: January 12, 2027
Maas stated that these books are scheduled for release in close succession, with the intention of minimizing waiting periods between segments of the story for readers. As of this announcement, the release date for ACOTAR Book 8 remains unconfirmed. Additionally, titles and cover art for the upcoming books have not yet been disclosed.
Integrated Story Structure
Maas elaborated on the narrative structure, explaining that the storyline across ACOTAR Books 6, 7, and the future Book 8 constitutes a single, continuous narrative divided into four distinct parts.
- ACOTAR Book 6 is planned to cover Part 1 of this overarching story.
- ACOTAR Book 7 will encompass Parts 2 and 3.
- ACOTAR Book 8 is slated to cover Part 4.
This structure is designed for the entire narrative to be read as one continuous story across the three physical volumes.
The most recent previous installment in the series, A Court of Silver Flames, was released in 2021.
