Geopolitical Developments: Russia-Iran and European Deployment

Iran-Russia Relations: No Arms Supply Requests, Consistent Stance

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday that Moscow has not received any requests for arms supplies from Iran. This declaration comes as Russia has previously condemned US-Israeli strikes and called for an immediate ceasefire in a country with which it has recently strengthened ties.

"Moscow has not received any requests for arms supplies from Iran," stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday.

Iran and Russia solidified a 20-year strategic partnership agreement last year, deepening their collaboration. This partnership includes Russia's involvement in constructing two new nuclear units at Bushehr, the site of Iran's only nuclear power plant.

Additionally, Iran has supplied Russia with Shahed drones, which have been utilized in Ukraine. Peskov affirmed that Russia's position on these matters remains consistent and unchanged.

European Military Deployment: Spanish Frigate Heads to Cyprus

In separate news, Spain's Defence ministry announced on Thursday that its Christopher Columbus frigate will be sent to Cyprus. This deployment is set to bolster regional presence.

The frigate will join France's aircraft carrier and other Greek navy ships already operating in the region. The Spanish frigate, specifically designed for air defense, is anticipated to reach Crete around March 10.
