10cc: A Legacy of Innovation and Enduring Hits

10cc was known for innovative pop music in the 1970s, combining glam rock, art rock, rock’n’roll, and doo-wop with surreal lyrics. The band underwent significant lineup changes over the decades. Key members Kevin Godley and Lol Creme departed in 1976, forming a successful duo. Co-founder Eric Stewart left the band approximately two decades later.

The Current Incarnation

Currently, bassist and singer Graham Gouldman, 79, is the sole remaining member of the original 10cc quartet. The current lineup includes 1970s-era live guitarist Rick Fenn and drummer Ben Stone, with singer Iain Hornal performing vocals.

Hornal noted that 10cc's song 'Old Wild Men' was written during a time when touring musicians in their 60s and 70s were less common.

"And Another Bloody Greatest Hits Tour"

The band's current tour is titled 'And Another Bloody Greatest Hits Tour.' The setlist features numerous hits from the 1970s, including 'Art for Art’s Sake,' 'Good Morning Judge,' and 'The Wall Street Shuffle.'

A unique moment in the performance is a barbershop-quartet style rendition of their 1972 track 'Donna.' Graham Gouldman also performs 'Bus Stop,' a song he wrote for The Hollies prior to 10cc. Singer Iain Hornal stated his solo track 'Say the Word' was designed to emulate the classic 10cc sound.

Iconic Performances and Audience Highlights

The show includes special appearances and crowd-pleasers. Kevin Godley appears via video, performing 'Somewhere in Hollywood.'

Audience engagement was evident, with 'Rubber Bullets' prompting dancing among attendees. The show concludes with fan favorites such as the 1977 track 'Dreadlock Holiday' and 'I’m Mandy Fly Me.'

The performance of 'I’m Not in Love,' released in 1975, is noted as a significant highlight for many attendees.
