Parramatta Eels forward J’maine Hopgood has received a one-match ban following a high tackle on Storm lock Alec MacDonald. The incident occurred just 30 seconds into their season opener, setting a tense tone for the match.
MacDonald was reportedly knocked out after stepping into the tackle from Hopgood. Notably, Hopgood also appeared to sustain a head knock during the same play.
