An individual reportedly approached a 26-year-old man, who was a stranger to him, on Wentworth Avenue in Surry Hills around 3 PM on Wednesday.
The individual allegedly attempted to strangle the younger man with a chain.
The victim was able to free himself. Emergency services were contacted, and the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
