Sydney Roosters Confirm Two Player Injuries

The Sydney Roosters reported two player injuries ahead of their Friday night match in New Zealand.

Leniu Hamstring Blow Ahead of Friday Night Clash

Spencer Leniu, a representative forward, sustained a hamstring injury during the pre-game warm-up and was withdrawn from the starting lineup. Blake Steep started at lock, and Salesi Foketi was added to the six-man bench.

Talau Suffers Knee Injury in Reserve Grade

Additionally, off-season signing Tommy Talau suffered a non-contact knee injury while playing in a reserve grade match. Talau had scored two tries earlier in the game.

The Roosters had announced Talau's signing in January, with head of recruitment Joel Carbone stating that the versatile outside back would provide "valuable depth and experience" to the backline.

Talau has played 83 NRL games since his debut in 2019, having previously played for the Wests Tigers and Sea Eagles.
