Sydney Opera House Sails Illuminate with Digital Art

The iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House are being illuminated with digital illustrations this week. This spectacular event is part of a year-long collaboration with Apple.

Public and Artistic Contributions

In March, members of the public participated by creating artworks on iPads at Apple stores. The best selections from these public contributions are now being broadcast on the sails over three nights.

Alongside these community-driven designs, the event also showcases static and moving-image drawings by 10 emerging Australian artists.

A Partnership Rooted in Creativity

Sydney Opera House CEO Louise Herron commented on the natural synergy between the two organizations.

Both the Opera House and Apple are associated with creativity, viewing the partnership as a suitable match for organizations seeking new ways for people to experience the world.

Australian Innovation at its Core

Significantly, all designs featured in the illumination were created using Procreate, an Australian illustration application.
