37th GLAAD Media Awards Celebrate LGBTQ+ Representation in Los Angeles

The 37th GLAAD Media Awards were held in Los Angeles, celebrating LGBTQ+ representation over the past year. Jonathan Bennett hosted the awards ceremony on Thursday, March 5, at the Beverly Hilton.

The event is scheduled to be available for streaming on Hulu starting March 21.

Ceremony Highlights

The ceremony included a performance by Demi Lovato. Featured appearances were made by a diverse group of individuals, including Don Lemon, Rhea Seehorn, Lili Reinhart, Rob Mac, Kristen Wiig, Paul Feig, Karolina Wydra, Ariana Madix, Miles Heizer, Monet X Change, Tig Notaro, Tonatiuh, and US Olympic gold medalist figure skater Amber Glenn. The cast and creatives of Heated Rivalry were also present.

Special Award Recipients

Quinta Brunson was recognized with the Vanguard Award for her advocacy as an ally promoting LGBTQ+ acceptance.

Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.

This award acknowledges LGBTQ+ media professionals who enhance visibility and acceptance.

Nominated Works

Nominated films for the awards included Christy, The History of Sound, Kiss of the Spider Woman, On Swift Horses, and Twinless.

Nominated television shows included Heated Rivalry, Pluribus, The Hunting Wives, Boots, and Overcompensating.
