TriStar Pictures Acquires Film Rights for Ben Mezrich's "The Last Orbit"
TriStar Pictures has announced the acquisition of film rights for "The Last Orbit," a forthcoming book by New York Times bestselling author Ben Mezrich. Matt Shakman is slated to direct the adaptation, with Josh Friedman developing the story.
About the Book: "The Last Orbit"
Scheduled for publication by Authors Equity in Q1 2027, "The Last Orbit" is a speculative fiction novel. It centers on a compelling celestial event.
The novel explores the asteroid YR4, which has a statistically significant probability of impacting Earth or the moon in 2032, and delves into a realistic international response to such an event.
Production Team
Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. will produce the film. Scott Sheldon and Ben Mezrich are set to executive produce.
