Tasmanian Tourism Operators Shine at 2025 National Awards with 10 Medals

Tasmanian tourism operators secured 10 medals, including two gold, one silver, and seven bronze, at the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Fremantle. The strong showing highlights the state's excellence on a national stage.

Gold Medal Achievements

Two Tasmanian businesses achieved the highest honor:

  • The Dragonfly Inn received gold in the Hosted Accommodation category for the third consecutive year, leading to its induction into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
  • Pennicott Wilderness Journeys earned gold in the Major Tour & Transport Operators category, marking their 15th Australian Tourism Award.

Silver and Bronze Wins

eGuide, a first-time national finalist from northwest Tasmania, claimed silver in the Tour & Transport Operators category.

Seven other Tasmanian businesses were recognized with bronze medals for their outstanding contributions:

  • Australian Wooden Boat Festival
  • Cascades Female Factory Historic Site
  • Aquila Eco Retreat
  • Younique Stays
  • Peppers Silo Hotel
  • Blue Derby Pods Ride
  • The Truffle Farm

Industry Recognition

Amy Hills, CEO of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, expressed pride in the results.

"The results demonstrate the state's operators' national excellence."

She noted that being recognized as a finalist among the country's best is an achievement, reinforcing Tasmania's reputation as a top travel destination. All Tasmanian finalists had previously secured gold at the state tourism awards in October, underscoring their consistent high quality.
