Jordan Davis Secures Historic Extension with Philadelphia Eagles

Jordan Davis and the Philadelphia Eagles have finalized a three-year contract extension valued at $78 million, including $65 million guaranteed. This agreement, reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, secures Davis's tenure with the team.

This extension establishes Davis as the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history.

Contract Details and Market Impact

His annual new money of $26 million positions him second among NFL interior defenders, tied with Milton Williams, behind Chris Jones. When considering his projected 2026 earnings, his average annual pay over the next four years totals $22.75 million, ranking 10th among interior defenders.

Eagles' Long-Term Vision

The Eagles had previously activated Davis's fifth-year option, ensuring his presence through the 2026 season. This new long-term deal aligns with the organization's approach as several young defensive players become eligible for second contracts.

Improved Performance On and Off the Field

Davis, 26, implemented lifestyle adjustments over the past two offseasons, which contributed to his improved performance. In 2025, Davis reduced his weight by 26 pounds and played 61 percent of defensive snaps, an increase of 167 snaps from his previous three seasons.

2025 Season Highlights

His 2025 performance included 72 total tackles, six pass breakups, six quarterback hits, and 4.5 sacks. He earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against the Lions in Week 11.

Additionally, Davis contributed on special teams, notably blocking a field goal attempt against the Rams in Week 3, which he returned for a 61-yard touchdown. This play earned him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
