Australian Paralympian Ben Tudhope has earned two medals at the Paralympic Winter Games in Italy, securing a silver in the men's snowboard cross SB-LL2 event and a bronze in the men's banked slalom SB-LL2 event.

These achievements mark his third career podium finish and his first time winning two medals at a single Games.

Snowboard Cross Silver Medal

Ben Tudhope, serving as Australia's flag bearer at the Games, competed in the men's snowboard cross SB-LL2 event.

During the first heat of the competition, he sustained a dislocated shoulder, which subsequently returned to its position. Following the injury, he received physiotherapy to stabilize his shoulder before continuing to compete in the semi-finals and final.

Tudhope finished second in the event, earning a silver medal. Italy's Emanuel Perathoner secured the gold medal. This result follows Tudhope's previous bronze medal win at the Beijing Paralympic Games.

Banked Slalom Bronze Medal

Days after his snowboard cross performance, the 26-year-old Tudhope competed in the men's banked slalom SB-LL2 event, a solo time trial race.

Despite having sustained a dislocated shoulder earlier in the Games, Tudhope participated in the event on Friday. He finished third after two runs, securing the bronze medal.

Emanuel Perathoner of Italy won his second gold medal of the tournament in this event, recording the fastest time of 54.28 seconds. Fabrice von Gruenigen of Switzerland took the silver medal.

Career and Tournament Achievements

These two medals represent Tudhope's third career podium finish and his first instance of winning two medals at a specific Paralympic Winter Games.

He is currently the only Australian athlete to achieve two medals at the event this year.

Emanuel Perathoner of Italy also achieved significant success, securing two gold medals at the tournament.
