U.S. Central Command reported that the service member was seriously wounded during an attack on U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia. The name of the deceased is being withheld for 24 hours following family notification, consistent with protocol.
Previous Casualties and Presidential Reaction
This casualty follows the dignified transfer of six soldiers killed the previous week in Kuwait. These six soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, an Army Reserve unit from Iowa.
President Donald Trump, who attended the transfer, stated that meeting with the families did not alter his view on the conflict, noting the families' desire for victory.
Separate Health-Related Death in Kuwait
Separately, a U.S. National Guard soldier, Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46, of Queens, New York, died on March 6 in Kuwait due to a health-related incident during a medical emergency at Camp Buehring.
Maj. Davius had served as a New York City police officer since 2014. The incident is currently under investigation.
