Raiders Acquire All-Pro Cornerback Taron Johnson from Bills

The Las Vegas Raiders have acquired cornerback Taron Johnson in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. This transaction occurred before Johnson could enter free agency, despite the Bills' prior plans to release him.

The trade involves the Bills sending Johnson and a seventh-round draft pick to the Raiders, in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.

Johnson's Career in Buffalo

Johnson, 29, was a fourth-round pick by the Bills in 2018 and had played his entire career in Buffalo. He participated in 113 regular-season games, starting 87 of them.

In 2023, he earned second-team All-Pro honors.

Contract Information

Johnson's current contract extends through 2027. This includes an $8.1 million base salary for 2026.

The contract also features a $150,000 workout bonus and $510,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

Official Transaction Timing

All NFL trades will become official on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, coinciding with the opening of the new league year.
