Coalition Seeks Bipartisan Support on Gulf Military Aid Request

Nationals leader David Littleproud has stated the Coalition's intent to be constructive and achieve bipartisan support for a request from the Gulf States for Australian military assistance. The Australian government is currently evaluating this request, with Foreign Minister Penny Wong indicating Australia would not participate in offensive action against Iran.

Littleproud emphasized the importance of calmly assessing intelligence and government briefings before making a decision. He noted that sending Australian personnel to a conflict is a highly significant governmental decision and suggested that bipartisan support is preferable.
