A drone strike in Kalogi, located in Sudan's South Kordofan region, reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 50 individuals, including 33 children. The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday and targeted a kindergarten.
The Sudan Doctors' Network and the Sudanese army have attributed responsibility for the attack to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group currently engaged in conflict with the national army.
The RSF has not issued an immediate statement regarding these allegations. In a separate development, the RSF accused the army of conducting its own drone attack on Friday. This alleged strike targeted a market and a fuel depot at the Adre border crossing with Chad, within the Darfur region.
Sudan has been experiencing a civil war since April 2023, stemming from a power struggle between the RSF and the army, both of which were formerly allied.
