India Grants Permission for Iranian Ships to Dock

India has granted permission for Iranian ships to dock at its ports, according to an announcement made in parliament by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

This decision followed a request from Iran earlier in the month, leading to one vessel, the Iris Lavan, already docking at the port of Kochi.

Port Access Details

On February 28, Iran formally requested permission for three of its ships in the region to dock at Indian ports. This request was subsequently approved by India on March 1.

The vessel "Iris Lavan" then docked at the Indian port of Kochi on March 4. Its crew members are currently located in Indian naval facilities. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar stated that the action taken was deemed appropriate.
