Jack Draper Upsets Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells
Jack Draper has defeated Novak Djokovic to advance to the Indian Wells fourth round. The British player secured his victory with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in a match lasting two hours and 35 minutes.
Djokovic, a formidable five-time Indian Wells winner and 24-time Grand Slam champion, had previously bested Draper in their only prior encounter at Wimbledon in 2021.
This victory is particularly notable for Draper, marking a significant return to play after an eight-month recovery period from an arm injury.
Draper, world number 14, expressed his view that beating Djokovic was significant. This tournament marks only his second ATP Tour event of the season.
In related news, fellow Briton Cameron Norrie has also progressed, reaching the quarter-finals where he is scheduled to face Carlos Alcaraz.
