Wellington Tragedy: Man Deceased, Woman Critically Injured After Welfare Call
Emergency services were called to a residential property in Wellington, New South Wales, on Saturday morning following reports of welfare concerns. Upon arrival, police located a man deceased and a woman with critical injuries. A 30-year-old man was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident; however, he has since been released pending further inquiries.
Police who attended the scene discovered an elderly man, believed to be in his 70s, deceased inside the residence. An elderly woman, also believed to be in her 70s, was found with serious injuries.

At approximately 8:10 AM on Saturday, emergency services responded to a home on Gisborne Street in Wellington. Victim Status and Treatment
The critically injured woman received immediate treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene. She was then airlifted to a hospital for further medical attention.
Police Action and Apprehension
Following the discovery, police initiated an area search. A 30-year-old man was located and apprehended inside a fast-food restaurant on Arthur Street. He was transported to Wellington Police Station for questioning.
Authorities later released the man, pending further investigations into the circumstances of the incident.

A crime scene has been established at the Gisborne Street residence. The investigation, known as Strike Force Fedonia, is being conducted by detectives with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
