These concerns follow a recent cyber incident targeting US medical giant Stryker, a supplier of critical medical equipment used in Australian hospitals. Irwin explained that global supply chains are deeply interconnected, meaning that even if Australian systems are not directly targeted, ripple effects could be felt locally. Disruptions to companies like Stryker, which also holds contracts with the US defense sector, could impact Australian organizations reliant on their products or partnerships.
