March 2026 Brings Milestone Returns to SNL

In March 2026, Saturday Night Live aired two episodes featuring former hosts returning to the show in milestone roles.

Harry Styles Episode

For the second time in his career, Harry Styles pulled double duty as both host and musical guest.

Harry Styles hosted SNL Season 51 Episode 15, which aired on March 14, 2026, at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. In addition to hosting, Styles served as the musical guest for the episode. This marked his second time fulfilling both roles in a single episode, the first being on November 16, 2019.

The episode represented his eighth total appearance on the show, including previous musical performances and cameos. Styles released his latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, on March 6.

Styles joins a group of over 50 artists who have hosted and performed in the same episode.

The cold open featured James Austin Johnson portraying former President Donald Trump and Colin Jost as Pete Hegseth, addressing topics including rising gas prices and the conflict in Iran.

Jack Black officially joined the "Five-Timers Club" with his fifth time hosting.

Jack Black hosted SNL for the fifth time, with musical guest Jack White also appearing for his fifth time as a solo musical guest on the show.

During his monologue, Black was joined by fellow Five-Timers Club members Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, and Candice Bergen. Melissa McCarthy also appeared in the Five-Timers lounge set.

Sketches and Segments

The cold open featured Kenan Thompson portraying Charles Barkley commenting on March Madness, alongside Ashley Padilla as former Attorney General Pam Bondi.

During the "Weekend Update" segment, Kam Patterson appeared as Professor Snape from the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. Patterson's character addressed backlash regarding his casting and issues of racism within the wizarding world portrayed in the segment.

Additional Context

Ryan Gosling hosted the SNL episode on March 7. Connor Storrie hosted the week prior to Gosling.
