Mr. Sullivan began his journey in the early 1970s in a junior underwriting position. By 1980, he had transitioned to a marine underwriter role in Perth, where he specialized in insurance for Western Australian fishing fleets.
Throughout his long and distinguished career, he worked in various locations including Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Notably, he served nine years as the New South Wales State Manager for marine insurance, showcasing his deep regional expertise.
In 2004, Mr. Sullivan moved to Melbourne to contribute to the establishment of a new marine insurance business for CGU, following an industry restructure. He subsequently held broader leadership roles in claims within the company.
