Souq Waqif Rebounds as Conflict Continues

Doha's Souq Waqif market was largely empty at the beginning of the conflict between Israel, the US, and Iran on February 28. The initial regional attacks caused shock in the capital.

Neighboring Gulf states have experienced the impact of retaliatory strikes, resulting in at least 18 fatalities across the region. In Qatar, most strikes, including some directed at US military bases, have been intercepted by air defenses, leading to minimal ground damage and no reported deaths within the country.

As the Middle East conflict continues into its third week, Doha's Souq Waqif market has started to regain activity.
