Ten Cabinet Ministers, Including Deputy PM, Resign in Solomon Islands

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has confirmed the resignations of ten Cabinet Ministers.

Formal advice regarding these resignations, including that of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation and Communications Fredrick Kologeto, was received by the Governor-General.

Other ministers who resigned include Paul Bosawai (Health and Medical Services), Clezy Rore (Justice and Legal Affairs), Harry Kuma (Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration), Derick Manuari (Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification), Wayne Ghemu (Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology), Francis Sade (Public Service), Daniel Waneoroa (Rural Development), Stephen Kumi (Traditional Governance, Peace and Ecclesiastical Affairs), and Franklyn Wasi (Agriculture and Livestock).

Prime Minister's Directive and Public Appeal

Prime Minister Manele has instructed public servants across government ministries and agencies to maintain focus on their responsibilities and continue delivering essential services. He has also urged the public to remain calm while political leaders address the current developments.

Manele stated that the Solomon Islands Constitution provides clear democratic processes for managing political situations, and these processes will be followed as Members of Parliament conduct discussions.

The Prime Minister did not elaborate on the specific reasons for the mass resignation.
