Man Using Alias "Mike King," Rep. Crockett's Security, Killed in Dallas Standoff

A 39-year-old man, identified as Diamon Mazairre Robinson, was killed last week in a standoff with Dallas officers. Robinson, who had been using the alias “Mike King” for years, was a member of U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security team. Dallas police confirmed details of the incident during a press conference on Monday. Robinson had operated security businesses that employed off-duty officers while using the fraudulent identity.

Diamon Mazairre Robinson, known to his team as Mike King, was a member of U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security detail and was fatally shot after a standoff with Dallas officers.

The Incident and Standoff

Robinson’s true identity was revealed after Irving police issued a bulletin for a vehicle with stolen government plates. A Dallas officer had previously observed this vehicle while working with Robinson on a security assignment six months prior.

On March 11, Dallas police attempted to pull Robinson over, leading to a brief chase. He was later located in a hospital parking garage. Following an hours-long standoff involving negotiators, officers shot and killed Robinson after he exited his vehicle and drew a handgun.

Rep. Crockett's Statement

Rep. Crockett issued a statement on social media, confirming that Robinson, known to her team as Mike King, had provided security for her for several years. She stated that her team adhered to U.S. House procedures for contracting security and was unaware of his alias.

Crockett noted that Robinson had maintained positive community relationships and had not given her team reason to suspect his identity was misrepresented. She expressed grief over his death and acknowledged her belief in redemption, referencing Robinson’s prior criminal history, which she said did not include violent offenses.

Authorities Uncover Extensive Deception

DPD Deputy Chief William Kenneth stated that investigators did not uncover Robinson’s true identity until after Crockett’s U.S. Senate nomination campaign had concluded.

Authorities revealed that Robinson had posed as a federal officer under a fabricated agency, “Specialty Dignitary Police,” for which he created identification cards.

Investigations revealed Robinson had posed as a federal officer under a fabricated agency, created false identification, and had multiple active felony warrants.

He also had two active felony theft warrants from 2017, a parole violation, possessed two vehicles with stolen government plates, and multiple stolen firearms, including the weapon he brandished before being shot.
