Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Trailer Released by Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm has released the full trailer for the animated series "Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord." This highly anticipated series centers on Darth Maul, a character famously known from "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

Sam Witwer will reprise his role as the voice of Darth Maul, a character he has brought to life in previous "Star Wars" animated projects and "Solo: A Star Wars Story." The narrative picks up after Palpatine's ascension to Emperor, finding Maul operating as a fugitive in a galaxy under Imperial rule.

Plot and Character Dynamics

The series will delve into Maul's efforts to rebuild his influence, showing him engaging with the criminal underworld to re-establish his power. A significant plot point involves his encounter with the Inquisitor First Brother, and his subsequent recruitment of a Twi'lek as his apprentice. This new apprentice is anticipated to be crucial in Maul's relentless quest for vengeance, a path recently reinforced by a powerful Force vision. The show is also projected to explore more of Maul's intricate backstory.

Oscar nominee Wagner Moura is confirmed to contribute voice talent to the series, adding to the ensemble cast.

The official tagline for the series sets a powerful tone: "Chains can be broken. Empires can be shattered."

Premiere Information

"Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord" was initially announced at last year's Star Wars Celebration. Fans can mark their calendars for the series premiere on the Disney+ service on April 6th, starting with a double episode. Following the premiere, two episodes will continue to be released weekly, culminating on May 4th.
