An explosion occurred at a residential property in Hayward, California.
Six individuals sustained injuries as a result of the incident; three were categorized as seriously wounded.
The Alameda County Fire Department attributed the blast to a natural gas line leak. Firefighters had previously responded to the location earlier on the same day for an inspection. Emergency services were subsequently dispatched again following reports of an explosion and a resulting fire.
The incident caused significant structural damage. A minimum of three buildings located on two separate properties were severely affected, and an additional third adjacent property also sustained damage.
