Reports: US Embassy in Baghdad Attacked Overnight

Reports have indicated new attacks on the United States embassy compound in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, during the overnight hours.

AFP and Reuters news agencies reported explosions in the early hours of Wednesday local time. These agencies cited security sources, and AFP journalists in the city reported hearing explosions near the embassy.

The facility is situated within the highly fortified Green Zone, which also houses numerous diplomatic missions and international organizations.

This outpost has experienced multiple attacks since the commencement of the war.
