Robbie Williams Announces Britpop World Tour for Australia and New Zealand
Robbie Williams has announced his Britpop World Tour for November, with dates scheduled across Australia and New Zealand.
The tour is set to begin in Adelaide on November 7, followed by shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane.
Australian Leg Details and Fan Reaction
The Australian leg of the tour will see Williams perform in several major cities. However, Perth, Western Australia, was notably excluded from the announced itinerary, leading to significant fan disappointment. Comments on social media indicated a strong desire for a return to Perth, with some referencing traffic issues from a previous 2023 concert.
New Zealand Stops Confirmed
Following the Australian leg, Williams will perform in New Zealand. His appearances include a stop at Auckland’s Eden Park. He will also make a first-time appearance in Christchurch in 25 years, performing at the new One New Zealand Stadium.
Promoting the Britpop Album
The tour promotes Williams' Britpop album, which was released in January. This album features a range of collaborations. Artists such as Chris Martin of Coldplay, Gaz Coombes, Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Mexican pop duo Jesse and Joy, and Gary Barlow all contributed.
Williams stated his excitement for returning to Australia and New Zealand, noting the special place both countries hold for him. He described the album as an upbeat and anthemic work, heavily influenced by the 1990s Britpop scene.
Recent Engagements and Media Features
Williams has been active with several high-profile engagements leading up to this tour. He previously toured Australia with his XXV Tour and headlined New Year’s Eve at the Sydney Opera House last year. More recently, he performed with Black Sabbath at the Brit Awards in a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
His recent media presence also includes a Netflix documentary series about Williams, released in 2023. This was followed by his Oscar-nominated film “Better Man” in 2024.
