SNL Launches "The Rundown" Short-Form Series
Saturday Night Live (SNL) has launched a new short-form series titled "The Rundown," available on Peacock and YouTube.
In each episode, an SNL alum selects a favorite segment from the show's history to add to Lorne Michaels’ "Rundown" board.
Early guests for the series include Dana Carvey, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang, and Questlove.
Colin Jost Kicks Off the Series
The first episode features Colin Jost, who discusses the complexities of writing a cold open. He added Amy Poehler and Tina Fey’s "Katie Couric Interviews Sarah Palin" to the board, noting it was a significant early piece for him as a writer.
Jost, who joined SNL as a writer in 2005, has written approximately 100 cold opens. He also highlighted the 2018 Brett Kavanaugh hearing sketch, starring Matt Damon, which was developed and broadcast within 24 hours.
Release Schedule
Episodes of "The Rundown" will be released on Wednesdays during SNL hiatus weeks through mid-June.
