Papali'i Faces Suspension After High Tackle, Other Players Cited

Canberra Raiders player Josh Papali'i faces a potential suspension following a high tackle on Bulldogs forward Sam Hughes during the Raiders' 14-10 loss to the Bulldogs at GIO Stadium. Papali'i was put on report and sent to the sin bin for the incident in the first half. Hughes was initially contacted by Corey Horsburgh before Papali'i made contact with Hughes' nose.

Papali'i's Disciplinary Charge

The match review committee subsequently charged Papali'i with a grade two careless high tackle.

As a first offense, Josh Papali'i is currently facing a one-game ban, which would increase to two games if he unsuccessfully contests the charge.

This potential suspension adds to the challenges for the Raiders following their narrow defeat.

Other Players Cited

Several other players also received disciplinary citations from the match review committee.

Joseph Tapine

Raiders captain Joseph Tapine was reported for high contact on Harry Hayes. He received a grade one careless high tackle charge and is subject to a fine, regardless of an early plea.

Lachlan Galvin

Bulldogs player Lachlan Galvin was cited for a grade one dangerous contact charge related to a hip-drop type movement on Hudson Young. He faces a fine of $1,000 or $1,500, depending on whether he takes an early plea.
