Turbocharged 1968 XT Falcon Campaigns 2025 Targa Tasmania

A powerful 1968 XT Falcon recently took on the demanding 2025 Targa Tasmania rally, making the journey from South East Queensland for the event.

The vehicle produces approximately 1100hp at wastegate pressure, with a maximum of 12psi.

Advanced Engineering Powers Classic Falcon

This vintage Falcon is equipped with a highly modernized powertrain designed for extreme performance. Under the hood, twin Garrett turbos feed a stroked tall-deck Dart block, utilizing hydroformed 321 stainless manifolds.

The vehicle’s sophisticated electronics include a MoTec ECU with drive-by-wire throttle, and it is configured for flex-fuel capability. At its current wastegate pressure setting, capped at a maximum of 12psi, the Falcon impressively produces approximately 1100hp.

Robust Drivetrain for Rally Demands

Power is transferred through a robust and race-proven drivetrain setup. The Falcon features a Jerico H-pattern four-speed transmission, ensuring direct and precise gear changes. This is coupled with a Race Products fully floating nine-inch differential, engineered to handle the immense power and stresses encountered during competitive rallying.

Targa Tasmania Challenge Concludes Early

Despite its advanced setup and strong performance, the team's participation in the Targa Tasmania rally came to an unexpected halt. During the final leg of the event, the Falcon experienced an oil pump drive failure, which unfortunately forced its retirement from the competition.

Looking ahead, the team has clear plans for the high-performance machine. Future intentions for the vehicle include a comprehensive refresh and a potential increase in boost, aiming for even greater power outputs in future endeavors.
