Israeli Air Strike Damages Key Lebanese Bridge, Raises Isolation Fears

An Israeli air strike damaged the Qasmiyeh bridge on Sunday. The bridge, a crucial piece of infrastructure, is a main route connecting southern and central Lebanon, located near the coastal city of Tyre.

Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, stated that Israeli forces had been ordered to destroy crossings over the Litani river. These crossings are reportedly used by Hezbollah for reinforcements.

Concerns among some Lebanese residents suggest that Israel's actions are an attempt to isolate southern Lebanon from the rest of the country in anticipation of a potential large-scale invasion.

There are also fears that displaced families might be unable to return to affected regions. Over one million people have been displaced in the region, raising concerns about a potential humanitarian crisis.
