Jason Momoa Evacuates O'ahu Home Amid Historic Hawaii Flooding

Jason Momoa and his family were forced to evacuate their home on O'ahu's North Shore due to historic flooding. The actor stated on social media that his family lost power from seasonal cyclones.

Momoa confirmed his family's safety and expressed concern for others affected. He noted, "The North Shore is pretty gnarly right now. So hopefully everyone’s safe and getting out. Stay safe out there." He further commented on the impact of the storms and flooding, particularly on displaced families and unhoused individuals.

In a show of support for the community, Momoa, along with Adria Arjona, distributed over 200 meals to locals. "We spent time on the west side, just trying to show love, bring some food, and remind our community that we see you, we stand with you, and you’re not alone," he stated.

The flooding, the worst Hawaii has experienced in over 20 years, left more than 2,000 people without power. Evacuation orders were issued for 5,500 people north of Honolulu, and over 200 individuals were rescued. No deaths were reported amidst the widespread disruption.

Governor Josh Green issued a statewide flood watch, warning that saturated ground conditions could lead to further flooding and damage. Green estimated that damages could exceed $1 billion, affecting airports, roads, homes, and a Maui hospital.
