Telstra Announces Mobile Plan Price Adjustments and New Affordability Options
Telstra has announced upcoming price adjustments for most Postpaid and Pre-Paid mobile plans, effective from May 5. The company attributes these changes to ongoing investments in its mobile network's performance, reliability, and security across Australia.
Price Increases Detail
Most Postpaid plans will experience a $4 monthly increase, with the Premium Plan remaining unchanged.
Pre-Paid mobile plans will see a price rise of approximately $5 per month, which will be accompanied by increased data allowances for customers on affected plans.
New Affordability Measures
In conjunction with these changes, Telstra is introducing new affordability options.
These include a new Upfront Mobile Access plan designed for customers with basic mobile needs requiring support.
Additionally, from July 1, 2026, a 10% discount will be available for eligible concession card holders on most Upfront plans, excluding the Access and Starter plans. Customers currently on the Starter plan will continue to receive their existing concession discount.
"Increased prices will support further investment in its network infrastructure, including the expansion and upgrade of its 5G network and the introduction of new technologies like satellite-to-mobile messaging on Postpaid plans."
The company stated that these increased prices are essential to support further investment in its network infrastructure. This includes the expansion and upgrade of its 5G network and the introduction of new technologies like satellite-to-mobile messaging on Postpaid plans.
