South Sydney Rabbitohs Secure More Allianz Stadium Home Games

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have finalized a significant agreement with the NSW Government, set to increase the number of home games played at Moore Park's Allianz Stadium. This deal marks a notable shift in the club's home game strategy for the coming years.

From 2026, the Rabbitohs will play two home games at Allianz Stadium. This number is set to expand further, with the club hosting four games in 2027 and then five games annually thereafter at the iconic venue.

This agreement highlights the significance of both Allianz Stadium and Accor Stadium to the Rabbitohs' history and future, with both NSW Premier Chris Minns and Rabbitohs chairman Nick Pappas emphasizing the benefits for fans and the club.

Crucially, the club will continue its commitment to play seven home games each year at Accor Stadium through to 2030. The additional Allianz Stadium games will be sourced from those previously played outside the Venues NSW network. Fans can also expect key fixtures, such as the popular Good Friday clash with the Bulldogs, to remain at Accor Stadium.

Taniela Paseka's Achilles Recovery and NBA Inspiration

Manly Sea Eagles forward Taniela Paseka is making strong strides in his return to the field, following a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained in round 3 of the previous year. His resilience and progress have been a testament to his dedication.

In the initial two rounds of the current season, Paseka has impressively averaged 123 meters per game, nearing his career-best performance from 2023. Despite this strong showing, Paseka noted that he is still regaining full strength and explosiveness in his calf, anticipating it may take one to two years for complete recovery.

"He drew inspiration for his demanding rehabilitation process from NBA star Kevin Durant, who also successfully returned to elite competition following an Achilles rupture in 2019."

Paseka openly acknowledged external criticisms regarding the Sea Eagles' pack mobility, indicating an awareness of team dynamics as he continues his personal recovery journey.

Luke Garner Extends Contract with Penrith Panthers

Penrith Panthers back-rower Luke Garner has committed his future to the club, signing a two-season contract extension that will see him remain with the Panthers until at least the end of 2028.

Garner, a two-time premiership winner with the Panthers, originally joined the club in 2023 after making the move from the Wests Tigers. His impact on and off the field has been highly valued by the club's leadership.

"Panthers General Manager of Football Shane Elford and CEO Matt Cameron commended Garner's professionalism, strong work ethic, versatility, and commitment to the community."

Throughout his career, Garner has accumulated a substantial 130 appearances in first grade, underscoring his experience and reliability in the top-tier competition.
