Justice Department Begins Release of Jeffrey Epstein Files

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has commenced the release of files related to investigations into Jeffrey Epstein. This action follows a new law mandating the disclosure of these documents.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the department expects to publish "several hundred thousand pages" initially. Additional documents are anticipated to be released in the coming weeks.

The deadline for this initial release was established by a bill that garnered widespread congressional support before being signed into law by President Donald Trump. The legislation, known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, set December 19 as the date by which the DOJ was required to begin releasing these materials.

The Act specifically mandates the release of all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials held by the DOJ that are relevant to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein.

Blanche indicated that the materials released would encompass various forms, including "photographs and other materials associated with... all of the investigations into Mr. Epstein." It is expected that portions of the content will undergo redaction.
