Joe Flacco Returns to Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Flacco has officially agreed to a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, a move confirmed by his agent, Joe Linta.

Flacco's return marks another chapter in his extensive NFL career, adding a veteran presence to the Bengals' quarterback room.

Return to the Queen City

Flacco, now 41, is no stranger to Cincinnati, having previously played for the Bengals in the 2025 season. During that stint, he appeared in nine games and started six. Prior to his initial arrival in Cincinnati, Flacco began the 2025 season as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. He was later traded to the Bengals after rookie Dillon Gabriel took over the starting role in Cleveland.

Bengals' Quarterback Depth

With Flacco's addition, the Bengals' current quarterback depth chart now includes Joe Burrow, Josh Johnson, and Sean Clifford. This move provides Cincinnati with an experienced backup option.

A Distinguished NFL Journey

Flacco embarked on his NFL career as a first-round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. He notably earned the Super Bowl XLVII MVP award in 2012, cementing his place in NFL history. After his release from the Ravens following the 2018 season, Flacco has had a nomadic but impactful career, playing for multiple teams. His journey includes stints with the Broncos, Jets, Colts, and two separate periods with the Browns, in addition to his previous time with the Bengals. His strong performance with the Cleveland Browns in 2023 earned him the prestigious Comeback Player of the Year award.
