Departure Details

The Season 22 finale will mark the final appearances for Raver and McKidd as series regulars. Production for the 22nd season has concluded, and the finale is one of four episodes remaining in the current 18-episode season.

Character and Actor Tenures

Both actors have had significant runs on the long-running series:

  • Kevin McKidd portrays Dr. Owen Hunt. He joined 'Grey's Anatomy' in season five in 2008. During his extensive tenure, McKidd directed an impressive 48 episodes of the series.
  • Kim Raver portrays Dr. Teddy Altman. She initially joined the show in season six in 2009 in a recurring capacity before becoming a series regular. She directed three episodes during her time on the show.

McKidd's character, Owen, and Raver's character, Teddy, were depicted as meeting during their time in the Army. The showrunner confirmed that the option for the actors to return in subsequent seasons is being maintained.
