Qantas Group Announces International and Domestic Service Changes for 2026-2027

The Qantas Group has released updates to its flight schedules for 2026 and early 2027, covering international network adjustments for the Northern Summer season and the introduction of new services to Western Sydney by both Qantas and Jetstar.

International Network Changes (Effective March 29, 2026, onwards)

The following adjustments apply to the Northern Summer 2026 season with various effective dates.

Brisbane
  • Honiara: Increasing from 4 to 5 weekly flights, operated by Alliance Airlines Embraer E190, effective March 31, 2026.
  • Los Angeles: An Airbus A330-200 will replace the Boeing 787-9 on daily services from May 18 to July 26, 2026. Services will reduce from 7 to 5 weekly from August 2 to August 22, 2026.
  • Manila: Five weekly A330-200 services will be maintained, an increase from the previously filed 4 weekly, effective March 29, 2026.
  • Noumea: Increasing from 3 to 4 weekly flights, operated by Alliance Airlines Embraer E190, effective March 31, 2026.
  • Wellington: A220-300 operations will increase from 1 to 3 weekly from April 20 to May 16, 2026, maintaining a total of 7 weekly services.
  • Port Vila: Increasing from 3 to 7 weekly flights, with Alliance Airlines Embraer E190 replacing the mainline Boeing 737-800, effective March 29, 2026.
  • Singapore: Ten weekly A330-200/-300 services will be maintained, an increase from the initially filed 9 weekly, effective March 29, 2026.
Gold Coast (Coolangatta)
  • Auckland: A new route with 3 weekly Boeing 737-800 services begins June 16, 2026.
Darwin
  • Singapore: Service reduces from 4 to 3 weekly (Boeing 737-800) during two periods: May 5 to June 16, 2026, and August 4 to September 14, 2026.
Melbourne
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth: Service reduces from 4 to 3 weekly (Boeing 787-9) effective May 7, 2026.
  • Hong Kong: Service reduces from 7 to 6 weekly (A330-200/-300) from May 5 to June 16, 2026.
  • Honolulu: The previously scheduled 5 weekly A330 services remain cancelled, effective March 29, 2026.
Perth
  • London Heathrow: Daily Boeing 787-9 westbound departures will operate via Singapore until July 25, 2026.
Sydney
  • Auckland – Apia: A new route with 3 weekly Boeing 737-800 services begins June 16, 2026.
  • Auckland – New York JFK: Service increases from 5 to 7 weekly (Boeing 787-9) from June 23 to October 4, 2026.
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth: Three of seven weekly services will operate with a Boeing 787-9 instead of an Airbus A380 from July 31 to August 21, 2026.
  • Honolulu: Service increases from 5 to 7 weekly, then reduces to 6 weekly from May 20, using an A330-300, effective March 29, 2026.
  • Johannesburg: Service reduces from 4 to 3 weekly (Airbus A380) from August 1 to August 26, 2026.
  • Perth – Rome Fiumicino: Service increases from 3-4 to 6 weekly (7 weekly from June 20) with a Boeing 787-9, from May 22 to July 26, 2026.
  • Santiago de Chile: Service reduces from 4 to 3 weekly (Boeing 787-9) from July 31 to August 27, 2026.
  • Singapore – Paris Charles de Gaulle: A new 4 weekly (5 weekly from May 19) Boeing 787-9 service will operate from April 20 to July 25, 2026. This replaces the 3 weekly Sydney – Perth – Paris Charles de Gaulle route.
  • Vancouver: A fourth weekly flight has been extended until May 6, 2026, using a Boeing 787-9.

New Western Sydney Services

The Qantas Group has announced new services to Western Sydney International Airport (WSI). Jetstar will launch operations in late October 2026, followed by Qantas in late March 2027.

Jetstar (JQ) Services (Effective October 2026)
  • Brisbane – Western Sydney: 3 weekly Airbus A320 services beginning October 27, 2026.
  • Gold Coast (Coolangatta) – Western Sydney: 4 weekly Airbus A320 services beginning October 26, 2026.
  • Melbourne – Western Sydney: 11 weekly Airbus A320 services beginning October 25, 2026, increasing to 14 weekly from December 15, 2026, to February 1, 2027.
Qantas (QF) Services (Effective March 2027)
  • Brisbane – Western Sydney: 4 weekly Embraer E190 services (operated by Alliance Airlines) beginning March 28, 2027.
  • Melbourne – Western Sydney: 4 weekly Embraer E190 services (operated by Alliance Airlines) beginning March 28, 2027.
