Hurley Celebrates Epic Comeback in Towel

UConn Huskies coach Dan Hurley celebrated a 19-point comeback victory over the Duke Blue Devils by wearing only a towel around his waist.

The Elite Eight game concluded with freshman guard Braylon Mullins scoring a 30-foot 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds remaining, securing a 73-72 win for UConn.

The Lucky Suit Protocol

Hurley was observed in the locker room wearing a towel to protect a specific suit he began using during the 2024 March Madness tournament. He previously stated his intention to wear the same navy suit, including the dress shirt, socks, and lucky red dragon underwear, throughout March Madness until his team was eliminated.

Game Day Rally

During Sunday's game, the Huskies trailed Duke 44-25 at halftime. Coaching adjustments by Hurley contributed to the rally, with center Tarris Reed leading the team with 26 points.

Post-Victory Dry-Cleaning and Next Challenge

Following the victory, Hurley's players celebrated, resulting in his suit requiring dry-cleaning. The UConn Huskies are scheduled to play the Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday in the Final Four, a team they defeated earlier in the year and in the 2024 Elite Eight.
