Disney Unveils First Look at "Toy Story 5" at CinemaCon
Disney and Pixar presented the first footage from "Toy Story 5" to theater owners at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas on Thursday. The film is scheduled for release in the United States on June 19, 2026.
The Big Reveal
Voice actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, who play Woody and Buzz Lightyear, appeared on stage to introduce the new footage.
The presentation noted that 30 years have passed since the first "Toy Story" film was released in 1995.
A Glimpse at the Story
The footage shown included two key scenes:
- One scene showed the toys dealing with being set aside by their owner Bonnie in favor of a new tablet toy named Lilypad.
- The toys then send a distress signal to Woody, who arrives in a subsequent scene.
The footage depicted a conflict between Woody and Buzz Lightyear over who should lead the effort to address the situation.
Behind the Scenes
Andrew Stanton, who directed "WALL-E" and "Finding Nemo," is directing "Toy Story 5." The cast includes returning stars Joan Cusack and Tony Hale, alongside new additions Greta Lee and Conan O'Brien.
The "Toy Story" film series has generated over $3 billion in global box office revenue.

At the same event, Disney also showed footage and teasers for other upcoming films, including:
- "The Devil Wears Prada 2"
- "Avengers: Doomsday"
- A live-action remake of "Moana"
