NASA to Host Webinar on Commercial Satellite Data for Earth Science
NASA's Earth Science Division has established the Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) program to explore using commercial satellite data for Earth science research and applications. This initiative aims to identify, assess, and acquire data from commercial providers as a potential supplement to observations from NASA, other U.S. government agencies, and international partners.
The program will host a vendor webinar featuring MDA Space, focusing on how commercial satellite data can complement NASA's existing Earth science data holdings.
Upcoming Webinar: MDA Space and C-band SAR Data
NASA will host a CSDA program vendor webinar featuring MDA Space. The session is designed to inform the research community about available commercial data resources.
Speakers will introduce MDA Space and its satellite constellation. Participants will be shown how to discover, access, and work with C-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) products from the constellation.
How Commercial Data Complements NASA Research
A key focus of the presentation will be to address how these data products complement existing NASA Earth science data holdings for research and applications. The webinar will provide insights into integrating these commercial datasets with NASA's observational assets.
Support and Services for Data Users
The webinar will also cover additional practical topics for researchers:
- Services available to data users.
- How to get assistance with MDA Space datasets, services, and tools through the NASA CSDA program.
This session represents a step in NASA's ongoing effort to leverage commercial capabilities to advance Earth system science.
