LG Electronics has introduced its 2026 OLED television lineup at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, featuring the LG OLED evo W6 True Wireless Wallpaper TV. This model marks the reintroduction of LG's Wallpaper Design, initially launched in 2017, and integrates advanced connectivity and display technologies, including True Wireless functionality, Hyper Radiant Color Technology, and the new α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen3.
Overview and Design
The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV features a 9mm class thin profile, achieved through component miniaturization and internal architectural redesign. LG states this model is the world's thinnest true wireless OLED TV. An updated wall mount allows the television to sit flush against the wall. The W6 will be available in 77-inch and 83-inch display sizes. The company noted this unveiling occurs in its 13th year of OLED display production.
Wireless Connectivity
The W6 incorporates True Wireless technology, which relocates all physical inputs to an external Zero Connect Box. This box can be placed up to 10 meters (approximately 30 feet) from the screen, provided a direct line of sight. The system wirelessly transmits 4K video and audio from the box to the display, which LG states is visually lossless under internal testing conditions. The television screen itself still requires a direct power connection.
Display Technology
The W6 features Hyper Radiant Color Technology, designed to enhance black levels, color accuracy, and brightness, while reducing screen reflection. This technology is stated to contribute to the Wallpaper TV being LG's brightest OLED offering to date. Powered by an upgraded Brightness Booster Ultra system, the display is reported to achieve luminance levels up to 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs in specific test conditions.
The display utilizes a new screen panel designed for low reflectance among LG televisions, which has received Reflection Free Premium certification from Intertek. This aims to maintain image quality, including black levels and colors, in varied and well-lit viewing environments by reducing glare.
Processing Power
The visual advancements across the 2026 OLED evo range, including the W6, G6, and select C6 models, are powered by the new α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen3. This processor includes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that LG reports is 5.6 times more powerful than the α9 AI Processor Gen8 from the previous year. It incorporates a Dual AI Engine, designed to process algorithms in parallel for noise reduction and detail retention, aiming to preserve natural textures and avoid over-sharpening.
User Experience Features
- LG Gallery+: This service allows the screen to display over 4,500 visuals, including cinematic content, curated artwork, game graphics, and AI-generated images, alongside personal photo collections. It includes mood-matching background music and is available across the LG TV lineup.
- Gaming Performance: The W6 Wallpaper TV and other 2026 OLED evo models support a 4K 165Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC® Compatible, and AMD FreeSync Premium. They feature a 0.1ms pixel response time and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for gaming. The 97-inch G6 model is noted to be excluded from some gaming features.
- AI TV Experience: The webOS platform introduces Voice ID, which presents personalized 'My Page' home screens based on voice recognition. Multi-AI capabilities integrate Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot for user inquiries and tailored on-screen responses. An enhanced AI Concierge offers content-related information and an 'In This Scene' feature for cast details, related content, and AI image generation.
- Security: The LG Shield system, a CES 2026 Innovation Award-winner, is designed to secure user data through encryption and other measures.
