Samsung Expands Galaxy AI: New Features for Calls, Images, and the Lock Screen
Samsung has announced a series of updates to its Galaxy AI suite. The enhancements focus on improving call handling, expanding creative photo and image editing tools, and delivering more personalized on-device experiences.
"The Lock screen now shows more personalized, context-based suggestions."
Smarter Call Management
Screen calls before answering: Users can now leverage Bixby Text Call to have a call assistant answer incoming calls on their behalf. The assistant will ask the caller to state their identity and purpose, allowing the user to decide whether to pick up.
Enhanced AI select: Accessing the AI select function is now easier. Users can start it by touching and holding the edge handle. A new Rewind button has also been added, enabling users to select content from previously displayed video frames.
Expanded Image and Photo Editing
Edit images with text prompts: Users can now edit their photos by simply describing the desired changes. This includes tasks such as altering clothing colors or adding new objects to the scene.
Add items from one image to another: The Photo assist feature allows users to seamlessly combine elements from different images. AI smoothing helps blend the result for a more natural look.
Add style to any photo: Style applications are no longer limited to people or pets. Users can now apply artistic styles to any type of photograph. Additionally, styles can be reordered in the thumbnail view for easier selection.
Continuous image generation: Photo assist now supports continuous creation. Users can generate new AI images directly from the results screen without needing to save each iteration. A dedicated history feature allows users to review past creations.
Create images with Creative Studio: The Creative Studio tool is now accessible directly from the Apps screen. This provides a central hub for users to create wallpapers, stickers, and profile images.
Personalized Lock Screen
Now brief on the Lock screen: The phone’s Lock screen has been upgraded to display richer, context-based suggestions. This update aims to provide more relevant information at a glance.
