Benjamin Jomaa Sentenced for Sexual Extortion Using Fake Profiles

Gosford, NSW – A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for a calculated campaign of sexual extortion targeting eight women, including two sisters and a mother-daughter pair.

β€œThe community must not tolerate such deceit and disrespect.” – Judge Kirralee Perry

Jomaa received concurrent sentences at Gosford Local Court on Friday, with a non-parole period of 16 months.

The Offenses

Between October 2024 and April 2025, Jomaa used multiple fake Facebook profiles to contact his victims. He manipulated publicly available photos to create pornographic composites and threatened to publish them online unless the women sent him real nude images.

Court documents reveal the messages were repetitive and often cut-and-pasted, targeting multiple victims within short periods.

Background & Arrest

When police arrested Jomaa in May 2025, they found both edited and original photos stored in a hidden folder on his phone.

A psychiatric assessment presented to the court noted Jomaa was under severe financial stress and had probable autism with poor insight into his behavior and a limited understanding of relationships. The judge rejected defense arguments that the conduct amounted to "sexual banter."

Legal Context

The charges were filed two months before New South Wales introduced legislation specifically banning AI-generated sexual imagery.

Victim Impact

Judge Kirralee Perry acknowledged the long-lasting impacts on victims, stating the community must not tolerate such deceptive and disrespectful behavior.
